NCAT’s Armed to Farm program is designed to meet the needs of veterans as they transition from serving our nation in the military to serving their communities by caring for the land, producing food and fiber, and supporting local economies.

Armed to Farm provides sustainable agriculture training for veterans and their spouses and farm partners. Using a cohort-based model, we prioritize peer-to-peer learning in both classroom and on-farm settings. Participants learn about business planning, marketing, USDA resources, and various production topics. They have access to individualized technical assistance, networking events, and additional in-person and virtual learning experiences. Through Armed to Farm, farmer veterans join a supportive community dedicated to helping them succeed.
