General Farm Description: "Upper Rogue Organic Farm is a small scale family farm that is seeking 2 reliable interns for June-October. We can offer a weekly stipend of 50.00, plus food and lodging (camping or small structure) . We encourage you to apply if you are self reliant, hard working, a self starter, interested in learning, love being outside, and get along with with others. Our farm began about 19 years ago and has been slowly growing each year. We are a market farm and primarily grow berries, garlic, market veggies, herbs and apples. We make many different farm direct products such as jams, salsas, teas, pickled vegetables, raspberry port and apple cider. We are a all hand tool operation, and farm our land intensively. We are Certified Organic through Oregon Tilth and during our busy season do three markets a week. We eat well, and there is always plenty. We share our meals on work days and like to eat all organic foods including: beans, whole grains, tortillas, bread, fruit and veggies from the garden, eggs and meat (on occasion). We make canned goods throughout the year and do lacto-fermented-crock pickling all summer long. We can accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets. On days off you can cook your own meals with food we provide. We are a all hand tool operation, and farm our land intensively. We are Certified Organic through Oregon Tilth and during our busy season do three markets a week. We do not keep animals on the farm, but we do have a couple of bee hives and worm bin. We also host WWOOFers!"

Internship Details:

Work with us! We are looking for a reliable helper to get us through our busy season. Work in the garden growing organic produce and also help in the kitchen making farm direct products.

Educational Opportunities: "Learn how a small certified organic family farm functions. Learn about crops, rotation, planting, irrigation, compost, bees, using hand tools, pest management, weed management and more"

Skills Desired: "We would like someone with experience working on a farm, or someone with a strong desire to learn more about farming who has a good work ethic."

Meals: We provide meals. We share meals on work days and provide food for days off for youth cook yourself.

Stipend: 50.00 a week after a two week trial.

Housing: Small shack or camping. Solar bath house with a composting toilet. WI-FI is available at our house.
