General Farm Description: Live & work on 7 acre riverside farmstead retreat surrounded by Carson National Forest. Idyllic rural location at the edge of historic farming village within an hour drive to Taos and Santa Fe.

Internship Details:

Seeking eager & responsible individual or couple to work on small scale non-certified organic vegetable farm in exchange for housing, share of harvest.
Regular tasks include all aspects of market farm operations: animal care (chickens & Donkey), planting, weeding, irrigation (traditional acequia flood irrigation), harvest, market, greeting guests etc. Approx 20 hours/week, more for couples. Must be available on Fridays & Saturdays.

Experience preferred however training will be provided.

Relevant references required.

Ideal candidate is willing to manage farm autonomously for up to a week at a time (after proper training).

Please have your own transportation- 4wd is ideal as we are down a 1/2 mile unmaintained county road.

Full season commitment is preferred- May-Sept or October.

Educational Opportunities: organic market farming, fruit trees, permaculture, traditional irrigation methods, seed saving, building with salvage y mas!

Skills Desired: A passion for farming and food and genuine respect for the work it takes to grow it is most important.

Meals: Fresh veg starting late May and eggs will be available. Some meals may be shared but most will be prepared on your own.

Stipend: no

Housing: Yes. Housing is in separate custom tiny house- functional, furnished living space with water and electric hook ups, gas stove, fridge, and wood stove. Detached Composting toilet & solar shower access. Verizon is the only cell service that works in our area- limited connectivity- wifi & laundry in the main house but use should be scheduled to respect our privacy. If you need to be connected to wifi at all times this is not the situation for you.
