General Farm Description: 40 acres (20 open fields, 10 woodlot, 10 pastured) located in Belgrade on the shore of Great Pond. 15 minutes from Farmington, Waterville, and Augusta. A working family farm , with newly constructed farm stand, large barn, and 170 year-old farmhouse. We are a stone’s throw away from swimming, fishing and hiking. Ice cream shop and general store are a easy bike ride. Located in a quiet, diverse community with young folks in the summer. The library and community center is a easy bike ride from the farm, we have extensive hiking opportunities. we are a diversified farm of 3 acres in vegetable production, including a hoop house for tomato production and a hoop house for winter veggies. We have a team of haflingers (horses) and oxen that we are using on our farm. We keep bees, laying hens year round, Romney sheep for wool. Our CSA of 60 members, our farmstand with commercial kitchen to preserve our harvest and sale. We go to the farmers’ markets. We are working on forestry management practices. This will be a year of bringing in the local school for us to work with students on farming with the final plan of them planting their own family garden.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Hello, we are a busy family farm and very diversified. we grow vegetables and flowers so we could always use help, planting, harvesting, weeding and general care of the livestock. We have a farmstand with a certified kitchen where we prepare and sell 7 days a week. so helping with the farmstand duties is always needed to. we plan jobs for folks according to there experience and comfort level, that is all determined once you arrive to help us here at the farm.40 acres (20 open fields, 10 woodlot, 10 pastured) located in Belgrade on the shore of Great Pond. A working family farm on busy Rt. 27, with newly constructed farm stand, large barn, and 170 year-old farmhouse. The library and community center is a easy bike ride from the farm, we have extensive hiking opportunities. I farm one diversified farm of 3 acres in vegetable and cut flower production, including a hoop house for tomato production and a hoop house for winter veggies. We have a team of haflingers (horses) and oxen that we are using on our farm. We keep bees, turkeys laying hens year round, Romney sheep for wool, we spin and knit for two markets. We keep free range pigs for pork and tilling. We use our farmstand with commercial kitchen to preserve our harvest and sale. We go to the farmers’ markets. We are working on forestry management practices.
We are currently looking for spring and summer help. when at our family farm, you should expect to help us with farm jobs, includes planting and weeding. also barn/animal care, cleaning animals and stalls, possibly helping with the farmstore and cooking for it. and many other farm related jobs.
3 week stay or longer please.
