Internship information
General Farm Description: We are a 10 acre homestead farm in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. We have a small orchard, berries, and vegetable gardens. We mow grass and hay with schythes. We are part of a nearby community organic vegetable garden. We have chickens and will have sheep this spring and summer. We follow permaculture principles and approach our work with a respect for, and joy in, the diversity of life.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Internship Details:
This is an 7 month position, from April 1st to the end of October. We can offer room and board (you prepare your own food) in exchange for 18 hours of work a week. We can not offer a stipend, but you will have time to work off the farm if you choose to.
Educational Opportunities: Learn about growing food and caring for the land following permaculture principles. We take the support of wildlife into consideration in all of our decisions. Our 10 acres has meadows, a pond and wetlands and forest.
Skills Desired: Experience gardening and growing vegetables will be a plus. Physical fitness is important. Good communication skills make working and living together go better. Getting up early should be something you like to do!
Meals: We will pay for your food expenses, within reason.
Stipend: We are unable to offer a stipend, but we will pay for your food within reason and provide board. There is time during the week for you to work off the farm as needed.
