Internship information

General Farm Description: Greyfield's garden is in two fenced sections that equal about 1.5 acres. We grow mixed veggies, herbs, and cut flowers year round for the chefs and house. Organic methods, no till, composting, and cover crop are used. The gardens are also a lovely part of our guests' experience and they wander thru or attend thrice weekly tours. Greyfield is located on Cumberland Island which is mostly a national seashore and is only accessible by boat.

Internship Details:

This is not an internship but a full time job.  We do offer housing in a private apartment, meals, medical and dental insurance after 60 days, paid vacation after a year, and a competitive salary.   We are looking for an experienced farmer or farming couple to manage our culinary gardens year round, starting as soon as possible.  It is important to be able to work independently, be self motivated, and communicate effectively.   Having experience gardening in the deep south’s challenging conditions is a plus.  Being able to live in a small, isolated community is also important.
