Internship information

General Farm Description: Small certified organic farm, one of the oldest certified farms in Michigan. Located in beautiful Leelanau County, in the northwest lower peninsula, close to Lake Michigan. We grow seedlings for sale, mushrooms, and have a few animals.

Internship Details:

Our primary focus is our seedling production in the spring. An intern would learn and perform all the steps of producing vegetable, herb, flower, and medicinal plant seedlings, and delivery to markets. Also the intern would be helping grow produce in a hoop house and garden for on farm consumption, and participate in some mushroom projects, such as inoculating shiitake logs.

Educational Opportunities: We are happy to share our knowledge of farming, animal husbandry, and growing and foraging mushrooms.

Skills Desired: Enthusiasm and attention to detail.
