General Farm Description: Et Cetera Farm is a small diversified NOFA certified organic vegetable farm located in Columbia County, Harlemville, NY. The farm has been in organic production since 2009. The farm operation consists of a nursery house, 3 high tunnels and an acre of garden plot for seasonal produce. During the season, we grow about 30 different crops from carrots to lettuce to rice to ginger and turmeric. The farm wholesales to local food coops and to local distributors. The farm also has a seasonal farm-stand on premise where locals shop for their vegetables.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Internship Details:
We are seeking an assistant farmer interested in working and learning about all aspects of small vegetable farm intensive vegetable crop operation including crop planning, soil management, compost building, bed preparation technique, planting, cultivating, and harvesting field and high tunnel crops. The position will also provide opportunities, if desired, to hands on sales and marketing aspects of the farm.
Educational Opportunities: We intend to provide you with experience in all aspects of small vegetable farm intensive vegetable crop operation including crop planning, soil management, compost building, bed preparation technique, planting, cultivating, and harvesting field and high tunnel crops. The position will also provide opportunities, if desired, to hands on sales and marketing aspects of the farm.
Skills Desired: Year or two farm experience preferred.
Meals: No
Stipend: $13 to $17 depending on experience.
Housing: We have limited on-farm housing offered at additional cost or we can refer you to a local affordable room/board near the farm.
