Internship Details:
The ideal Farm Crew Intern candidate is someone interested in organic growing, but has no or limited experience in the field. College students looking to gain real world experience in agriculture over their summer break are encouraged to apply.
Our farm is driven by market gardening principles. We grow large quantities of high quality produce for our CSA, restaurants and local farmers markets on small acreage using ecologically-sound practices. We are organic certified, and strive to keep a light footprint. Our team has high expectations – both physically, and mentally.
Working together and under the leadership of the Farm Manager and Farm Crew Lead, the Farm Crew Intern will be involved in all aspects of the operation, including bed prep, seeding, transplanting, greenhouse management, cultivation, irrigation, BCS/tractor operation, wash/pack, farmers markets, restaurant deliveries, and harvest.

Skills Desired: Passion for working outside, with seasonally heavy work loads and public interaction Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work long hours in all types of weather conditions Represent the values of the company while interacting with anyone on site Enthusiasm for sustainable food production Maintain positive attitude and team cohesion amongst the field crew Interest in Market Gardening Interest in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards Familiarity with Google Suite software Adaptability - ability to be flexible when changes occur - weather, tasks, etc.
