Internship information
General Farm Description: Our family farm began on a small piece of land in Arizona. Our goal was to teach our children where their food comes from by growing and raising as much of our own food supply. We started with chickens and then added sheep, followed by pigs. We maximized our property with gardens and animals and needed to find more pasture space sooner than we expected thanks to the support from the community. We looked to our surrounding neighbors and put our livestock on their unused pastures enabling us to grow our pig and sheep herd. We are thrilled to share that we found a family farm with similar philosophies to help grow our business and continue their tradition of ranching. As of June 14, 2021, we are the proud owners of Double Check Ranch. By bringing both family businesses together, we at Heartquist Hollow Farm will now be able to provide the community with a wider range of grass-fed, pasture raised meats. Double Check Ranch's primary focus has been grass-fed beef while our focus has been pasture raised lamb and heritage pork. It is an agricultural match made in hog heaven! We currently provide hormone-free, steroid-free, and antibiotic-free grass-fed and grass finished beef, pork and lamb to the community in addition to our pasture eggs and pickled veggies. We sell our goods at the farmer’s markets and locally owned businesses in the Phoenix and Tucson Valleys.CRAFT Member Farm? No
