Internship information
General Farm Description: FogDog Farm was founded in 2016 by Kristen Draz and William Holland after many years of building our agricultural knowledge and skills on small farms. We are dedicated to creating a vibrant and resilient local foodshed in the Sierra Nevada foothills. We believe that small farms are an essential part of the health of our community and that good food is a right for all. We work to grow nutrient-dense food year round using low-till, ecological growing practices and we market our produce to local restaurants, co-operative grocery stores, and at our farmstand.CRAFT Member Farm? We are looking for three full-time members for our farm crew.
-40 hrs/week, ~8 hrs/day. Monday-Friday. Start and end time shifts based on the season. Must be available to work 1 additional weekend day a month
-Starting wage is $16-18/hr depending on experience
-On-farm housing (small trailer with full hook-ups) is available for one employee with a pro-rated wage of $15/hr. We can also help you find housing locally
-Guaranteed minimum 50 cent wage increases every six months
-Position begins early April through December 15th. Must be able to commit to the full season. Opportunity for winter work also available

The majority of the farm crew’s work will be harvesting, washing and packing produce 3 days a week. Greenhouse work, weeding, transplanting, crop care and maintenance make up the rest. First year employees should expect to work in all facets of the farm for the season, with more specialization if you return for additional seasons.
We are looking for people who are motivated by production farming and have a dedicated interest in agriculture. Ideally you have a minimum of a year of agricultural experience or working outdoors. This job requires working outside in our hot summers and cold and wet winters, heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, standing, crouching, bending on a daily basis. Your success is dependent on your ability to move quickly and efficiently. You should be self-motivated, find the farm work and lifestyle rewarding, and have a desire to build mastery in farm skills. We strive to have a friendly, fun and collaborative workplace and value employee engagement and problem solving. While we hire seasonally for first year crew members, we are dedicated to growth opportunities for employees and are looking for candidates who may be interested in permanent employment.
If you would like to apply, please e-mail your resume to fogdogfarm@gmail.com and fill out our questionnaire (link is on our website at https://www.fogdogfarm.com/jobs.) No incomplete applications will be accepted. If you are a qualified candidate, we will e-mail to set up a phone interview followed by a working interview on the farm.
