Internship Details:
JBG Organic is seeking a Greenhouse Production Assistant for our Garfield Farm. This position is responsible for the seeding, germination and careful care of plants which will later be transplanted into the fields, accounting for over 60% of the farm’s total production. The Greenhouse Production Assistant plays an integral role in the farm’s year-round operation, working closely with the Head Grower, Harvest Coordinator, and farm administration. Given the importance of the position, qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate a high capacity to prioritize tasks, work on several different projects at once, pay attention to details, and, most importantly, an ability to learn. This position offers opportunity for job growth, and we are happy to train the right person.
Educational Opportunities: We are a dynamic and growing farm; there are always opportunities for on-farm learning.
Skills Desired: Applicants should have at least 1 year experience working on a farm, in a greenhouse, or in horticulture.
Meals: No
Stipend: This is a paid position. Pay is competitive depending on experience.
