General Farm Description: FULL FARM CSA MARKETING INTERNSHIP Deck Family Farm | Junction City, Oregon | Willamette Valley Instagram & TikTok: @deckfamilyfarm ABOUT THIS POSITION This is a brand-new position at Deck Family Farm — created because we have an extraordinary product and an extraordinary story, and we want someone to help us share both more powerfully. The Full Farm CSA (FFCSA) is the heart of how we connect our farm to our community. Members receive meat, dairy, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, ferments, and more — sourced from our own certified organic farm and a tight network of like-minded local producers within 20 miles. Over 70% of what's in the box comes directly from us. The right intern will live and work on the farm, learn every enterprise from the inside, and then use that knowledge to grow CSA membership, strengthen customer relationships, and tell our story across every channel — from weekly newsletters to farmers market conversations to social media posts. This is not a desk job. You will work the farm. You will know the animals, the products, and the people. And from that foundation, you will market. WHAT YOU'LL BE SELLING The FFCSA brings together the complete output of Deck Family Farm and our partner producers. As our marketing intern, you will become fluent in every product and the story behind it — because the best marketing here comes from genuine knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. The farm work is not optional — it is the source material. You cannot sell raw milk you have never helped produce, or convince a customer that pastured pork is worth it if you have never watched a sow farrow. Farm Work (integrated with your cohort): - Morning farm operations and all-farm meeting at 7 AM - Rotating through enterprise areas — dairy, livestock, garden - Farmers market setup, sales, and customer engagement - CSA order fulfillment, packing, and delivery support - Community meal preparation and farm hospitality Marketing Responsibilities: - Grow and steward FFCSA membership — outreach, retention, referrals - Create content for Instagram and TikTok that shows real farm life - Write weekly or bi-weekly member newsletters and product spotlights - Represent the farm at farmers markets — educate, sample, sell - Support product launches and seasonal promotions - Help develop and maintain the farm's online store presence - Track CSA membership data and assist with basic reporting - Build relationships with wholesale and restaurant accounts WHAT YOU'LL LEARN - Farm-to-consumer marketing: Translate real farming practices into compelling stories for CSA members, market customers, and social media audiences - Community Supported Agriculture: Deep hands-on experience running a full-diet CSA — one of the most sophisticated models in direct farm sales - Farmers market sales: Work 8 markets alongside experienced staff; learn to educate customers, handle objections, and build loyal buyers - Social media and content creation: Build a real content library from real subject matter — farm life, animal births, cheese making, market days - Farm business and financials: Understand how a multi-enterprise farm manages revenue, pricing, and customer relationships at commercial scale - Agricultural production: Six livestock species, a raw milk dairy, and a market garden — learned from the inside WHO THRIVES HERE No prior marketing degree or experience required.
