Farmer Training Intern
We are seeking someone for a part-time internship during the 2025-2026 academic year to support farmer training and
resources development for various projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Farmer Training Team in developing and delivering the 2025 Farm Employment Workshop Series. You will attend and assist with six workshops throughout the year, focusing on creating participant resources, uploading and organizing course content, and supporting reporting requirements. You will also assist with grant reporting and grant writing by reviewing narratives, compiling workshop data, and contributing background research.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Attending six Farm Employment workshops and compiling reporting data (# registered, attendance, survey results, etc.).
- Creating YouTube thumbnails, descriptions, and uploading workshop recordings.
- Drafting follow-up participant emails with workshop resources and slides.
- Formatting speaker content into templates for the Canvas team to upload.
- Maintaining a master spreadsheet with workshop data and survey results.
- Reviewing grant narratives and providing suggestions, ideas, and research support for future NERME proposals.
- Comparing other farm employment courses to identify pricing, content, and providers.
Intern Learning Objectives and Outcomes
- Gain experience in project coordination and event support through workshop attendance and follow-up.
- Develop skills in digital communications and resource creation using Canva, YouTube and Microsoft Suite.
- Learn how to organize and analyze workshop reporting data to meet grant requirements.
- Build research and writing skills through grant narrative review and background research.
- Understand how farmer training programs are designed, delivered, and evaluated.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to track and summarize data accurately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Canva and YouTube platforms.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable agriculture, farmer training, or workforce development.
Location, Hours and Compensation
- This is a remote first position. Local to Beverly, MA and able to come into the office on occasion is optional but not required.
- This internship period will run during the academic year of September through April for 8-10 hours per week.
- Compensation is $20.50/hr for undergraduate students and $23/hr for graduate students.
