Owned and operated by Mel MacTavish & Kyle Forrest Burns, with a combined 23 years of market farming experience under their belts. Our diversified farm enterprise spans two distinct locations less than 2 miles apart. We are driven by our passion for farming, food, and family. We are hiring for three positions: FARM CREW, FLOWER ASSISTANT, ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER.

As a valued member of our FARM CREW, you will be immersed in a diverse set of responsibilities spanning both the wash station and fields. This role is a physically demanding all-weather outdoor/indoor position, often requiring intense and taxing efforts on both the body and mind. Expect to be actively engaged throughout each day, as our intensive farming approach allows us to yield exceptionally high quantities of vegetables per acre! Our methods are more physically demanding than other farming styles, but offer ample opportunities for both enjoyment and learning. Also, maybe you’ll get buff?
This position offers the potential for year-round employment, providing a unique opportunity for continuous involvement and personal growth within the dynamic environment of our farm operation. As a member of the Farm Crew you’ll have the opportunity to dive deeper in to farm roles such as propagation manager, pack shed manager, irrigation, etc. Join us as we cultivate not just crops but also a collaborative and thriving community committed to growing.
Farm crew daily tasks include:

Harvesting crops by hand using harvest knives and with mechanical assistance.

Cultivating fields through hoeing and hand weeding when needed.

Transplanting seedlings into the field and tunnels.

Weeding around fields, crop rows and tunnels.
-
Irrigation work, including moving, assembling, and disassembling pipes.
-
Mowing, weed whacking, and general property maintenance.
-
Moving silage tarps for weed control.
-
Assisting with special projects as needed.
-
Washing, spinning, and air-drying salad greens.
-
Packing & weighing produce.
-
Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, refrigerators, and work surfaces.

Marketing through working at the Farmers Markets, Farm Stand and on-farm events.
Crew member expectations:

Arrive on time consistently and dependably.

Follow instructions carefully and pay attention to detail.
-
Commit to working for the entire season.
-
Maintain physical fitness and repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.

Adapt to the seasonal challenges of farm work.

Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
-
Accept constructive criticism with a positive attitude.
-
Communicate clearly with fellow crew members and managers.
Work Schedule & Commitment:
-
Full-time position, 35-40 hours per week, Mondays-Fridays, and/or Saturdays
-
Part-time position, 15–25 hours per week (2–4 days per week).

Early morning starts (as early as 6 AM in summer).

Some weekend work for farmers markets and special events.

Seasonal position (March/April–October), with potential for year-round employment.

Must be reliable and dedicated to the full farming season.
MARCH-NOVEMBER. $18/hour D.O.E., +end-of-season performance bonus. Free veggies are an inherent perk.
