General Farm Description: Adrian's Garden is an organic mixed vegetable farm on beautiful silty loam soil in a small valley near Princeton, NJ. We grow a bit of everything but specialize in salad greens, tomatoes, and peppers. Working closely with chefs over the last 6 years has led us to an obsession with growing the most delicious produce possible. As it turns out, deliciousness has a causal relationship with healthy soil, healthy plants, and reduced disease and insect pressure. This is always the goal, and we're always striving to get a little bit better. Efficient farming systems, whether in the wash / pack barn or in the field are very important to us as well.

Internship Details:

We are looking for hardworking, committed and energetic folks interested in working in a positive environment. Interns will be active in all aspects of farming including harvesting, wash/pack, cultivation, irrigation and more. Opportunities to learn specific farm based skills are also available. Learning about farming is at the center of our daily operations. The right individual is interested in vegetable farming, has lots of energy and has the ability to lift 50lb.

Educational Opportunities: Educating our employees and interns about farming, plant health and soil health is vital to maintaining positive energy and intentions on the farm. We do weekly farm walks to observe the farm and think through management goals as a group. You will have the opportunity to work side by side with head farmer Adrian Galbraith-Paul who has 8 years of experience running vegetable farms and has lectured on soil and plant health for PASA and NOFA New Jersey.

Skills Desired: We are looking for hardworking, committed and energetic folks interested in working in a positive environment.

Meals: One or two lunches per week plus access to vegetables from the farm.

Stipend: Yes, we pay $12.50 per hour.
