Pennsylvania is offering Sustainable Agriculture Grants and Alternative Crop Grants up to $25,000 each for farmers and nonprofit educational institutions to carry out projects that address the reduction of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment pollution in the EPA’s Most Effective Basins (MEBs) regions. An online guide details eligible activities and equipment. Project must do one or more of the following:
Reduce operating expenses through practices that are ecologically beneficial.
Improve soil quality and fertility.
Improve water quality.
Reduce or eliminate the need for the purchase of off-farm inputs, such as chemical or synthetic fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides.
