General Farm Description: Three Sisters Garden Project is a non-profit organization and community farm with a mission to increase access to fresh, high quality local produce for everyone in our community. We grow diversified vegetables following organic standards (but are not certified) on 3 acres for our 170-member CSA, as well as for our food access partnerships and programs, and a limited amount of wholesale accounts. We will be gradually expanding production to an additional 2-3 acres over the next two years.CRAFT Member Farm? Yes

Internship Details:
We are currently seeking full time assistant growers to join our team. Assistant growers will work under the direction of and in cooperation with the Farm Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants looking to deepen their knowledge, skills, and experience in diversified vegetable production.
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of crop production, including but not limited to: seeding, transplanting, irrigating, fertilizing, weeding, thinning, and harvesting
Washing and packing produce for CSA and deliveries
Greenhouse seeding and watering
Opportunities to assist with tractor work and maintenance, and take on more responsibility or ownership of projects, if interested and able
Working with, providing guidance to, and creating a welcoming and friendly environment for CSA shareholders, volunteers, neighbors, and other visitors
Desired Qualifications
A minimum of one year of organic vegetable production or other farming experience preferred
Interest in and understanding of organic and sustainable farming methods
Ability to maintain a strong work ethic on long days in variable weather conditions, both independently and as part of a team
Ability to safely lift and move heavy crates and supplies (50+ lbs)
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with a keen attention to detail and proactive approach to asking questions and problem-solving
Ability to cope with, and practice emotional management in, a fast-paced work environment with fluctuating demands on time and energy
Strong communication skills, a sense of personal accountability, a welcoming and positive attitude, and a willingness to receive constructive feedback
Valid driver’s license
Educational Opportunities: Participation in eastern MA CRAFT events, on-farm training
Skills Desired: One year of farming experience preferred
