Western Colorado Alliance’s monthly series of free farm tours continues with this visit to Cedar Springs Farm. Jake Takiff, the owner and farmer of this 40 acre property, uses earthworks and permaculture elements like swales and ponds to slow the movement of water across the land and ensure access to moisture despite a lack of traditional irrigation. By growing a food forest and raising hogs, they are able to create a lush, abundant property with minimal inputs.
