General Farm Description: At Snake River Ranch we have focused on specializing in natural yearlings (no hormones and no antibiotics) as well as adding some non-ag enterprises (event venues, hunting and fishing leases, boat launch sites, etc.) in order to bring in recreational revenue from the property.CRAFT Member Farm? Internship Details:
The SRR Ranch Internship, located in beautiful Jackson Hole Wyoming, provides an opportunity to work with a natural regenerative livestock operation. This position requires a willingness to work with other ranch interns and managers in a historical ranch setting. Long-term interest in ranching is preferred.
This is an excellent internship opportunity for students to receive hands-on training in day to day ranching activities. Housing, and beef are also provided. 4 Positions are available for our 2021 summer season.
Interns may be involved with electronic identification, record management, range management, and animal health. In addition, the internship may include seasonal tasks, such as flood irrigating, rotational grazing, cattle processing, weed management, and horsemanship in the summer. Assume other duties as assigned.
Educational Opportunities: We expose interns to many aspects of a medium-size yearling operation. Additionally, We encourage our interns to seek out educational opportunities pertaining to their own ranching interests such as farming conferences held at the universities or seeking out reading materials and we will accommodate access to such educational opportunities.
Skills Desired: Skills Desired: Applicants must be able to handle physically strenuous, repetitive tasks in all weather conditions, Applicants must have a good attitude, and be able to work, live and communicate well with other farm staff.
