Internship information
General Farm Description: Hazelfield Farm CSA is a small family farm located in beautiful Wheatley, KY. Our land is 24 acres of pasture, crop fields and woods and is located centrally between Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati. We grow an average of 5-7 acres of organic vegetables, fruit and herbs. We are also home to an Angus beef herd, chickens, and pigs. We operate an 80+ member CSA and attend a weekly farmers' market (May-November). Minimum Length of Stay: 2 months
Internship Details:
Interns will help with the farm work: planting, harvesting, washing/preparing veggies, weeding, and general farm maintenance. We offer a private farm house (2 bed/1 bath) with full kitchen, tv, AC, washer/dryer. Interns will have access to farm produce for meals. We would require 30-40 hours of work per week and offer $400 cash per month. Our operation prefers help from May-October but shorter stays are also an option.
Educational Opportunities: We have been organic farmers for over 20 years and love sharing our valuable knowledge. We also offer a farming library of hundreds of farming books!
Skills Desired: No experience is required, but a love of farming and dedication to hard work is certainly valuable!
Meals: We offer our farm's produce and some meat.
Stipend: $400 per month
