Farm Hand Position Available
Alegre Farm is a sustainable, family farm that is a popular place for gatherings and educational experiences. We follow many permaculture and holistic management principles, while striving to practice a regenerative agriculture. We are looking to hire a full-time farm couple. Our ideal candidates would have at least a couple years of experience caring for large animals, farm maintenance, some carpentry knowledge and cleaning experience. We offer a competitive base salary, room and board.

Compensation
This position is for a couple that is looking to be an integral part of a growing successful farm that does some of everything. The responsibilities include tending to animals, running our vegetable garden throughout the year, managing all landscaping on property and cleaning the houses. The position comes with a weekly pay salary of 800 usd plus room and board.
Responsibilities
1) Feed and water all our animals daily (typically takes an hour or two to do this)
2) Cut grass on mower and edge/maintain garden beds with weed wacker 4 times a month (during warm season)
3) Manage vegetable garden during growing season, tilling, planting, removing weeds, harvesting produce and ensuring clear walkway
4) 4-5 hours per week of animal care beyond daily feeding and caring of worm composting bin and milking of goats (daily)
5) Assistance on building projects, fence repairs, prep for field trips and weekend events.
6) Clean the houses in a detailed and meticulous way.
Housing
Regarding housing, we have a 1 bed/1 bath apartment on the property with a kitchen.
Hours
Our salary and room and board covers 9 hours per day Monday to Friday and 5 hours on Saturday. On Saturday you will just tend to animals and have the opportunity to work events and weekend cleaning for additional income.
