Internship Details:
This is a mixed internship that will give you a large diversity of tasks to explore and execute. You will be asked to engage in all kinds of activities, which will help you avoid boredom and repetition. Primary duties will revolve around: gardening, nursery management, poultry management, korean natural farming, permaculture design, tree planting, orchard management, harvesting, food preservation, community engagement, and some building if so inclined. All work is up for negotiation. This is a position for a passionate, motivated, entrepunerial person that wants to get involved, take charge, and learn a lot. Lots of possibilities abound. I know heaps of people in our region and can connect you for work, play, and opportunities. You are welcome to bring an rv or tinyhome if you like. We have nice tent sites available. We have a community house available to you part of the week, with an ozone hot tub, sauna, kitchen, and more. See our building at airbnb.com/h/havnhaus. A lot of education will accompany the internship, including access to a large library. We have a huge amount of tools and resources to make your work fun and easy. We have a glasshouse complete with shower, citrus, tropicals, and a potting table. This space will be a great asset to you. Timing is flexible and we are open to long and short term internships. For the right party we are willing to offer a lot more compensation and attention, if you show passion, drive, and commitment to the various projects at hand, and potential ones that could be taken on. Our airbnb needs cleaning weekly and this task could be yours as a small income source.
Educational Opportunities: Heaps of them: permaculture, earthworks, forestry, chainsaw, land management, community living, building science and skills, plumbing, electrical, Korean natural farming, perennial and annual ag, running a business, and more
Skills Desired: Building experience, including plumbing, electrical, and finish work is extremely valued.
Meals: I am a chef and will provide meals from time to time. Mostly you will be on your own. We have lots of gear you may use, like stoves, etc.
Stipend: It is an option depending on the arrangement we co-create.
Housing: A bath house is complete. It may be used periodically for campers. Camping will be necessary unless you bring a structure with you. We have a glasshouse with a shower that may be used. A tent platform exists and is available. It has a water view.
