Internship information

General Farm Description: Sheep Ranch operating with 400 sheep, grazing over 1,200 acres a year. The sheep are moved from pasture to pasture within an hour and a half drive from the ranch. Lamb meat is sold directly to customers and restaurants in the region, and the wool is either sold to Pendleton Woolen Mills, or made into yarn that we sell.

Internship Details:

An intern could expect to help with building and taking down temporary electric fencing on large pastures of 40-120 acres, haul sheep in a livestock trailer, and the daily check of sheep.

 

We are looking for an individual that can start as an intern, and if it’s a good fit after 3 months, then there will be the option to move into a full-time employee position. This person should have an interest in sheep and learning how to

Educational Opportunities: The possibility to learn to shear sheep, all aspects of raising sheep on pasture.
