Internship information
General Farm Description: An 80 acre legacy farm in rural Vermont. We are a diversified organic farm focusing primarily on vegetable production, while also incorporating flowers, berries, herbs, laying hens, meat birds, and value added products like jam, salsa and pickles. Vegetable production is around 7 acres. The land is conserved by the Vermont land trust and incorporates many conservation practices to encourage biodiversity and sustainability. These include bee colonies, bat houses, wildlife habitats and wildflower plantings. Owner and operator Greg Cox and his family have been growing for 40 years in west Rutland, Vermont. Boardman Hill Farm is well-known in the local community for a lot more than delicious food: it’s an incubator farm that has jump-started many local farms and food projects, and has been a key player in building up the local food system.CRAFT Member Farm? Internship Details:
Looking for passionate and energetic full time interns for the 2026 season.
40 hour weekly commitment with opportunities to help at farmers markets and occasional community food projects.
You’ll help in many aspects of day to day operations, such as seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, pruning, fertilizing, washing and processing produce, as well as setting up and maintaining infrastructure.
Everyday is unique with Fridays focused on harvesting. We are looking for hard workers eager to learn how to farm. We’re especially excited about candidates who are hoping to become growers themselves and/or grow into leadership positions on the farm.
Farm experience is welcome but not necessary
This is a busy, working farm with lots of people (and dogs!) coming and going, so being considerate of others and shared spaces is a must.
On farm housing and a weekly stipend is available.
Educational Opportunities: That is exactly what this experience is.
Skills Desired: Work ethic, good attitude, and respect for others.
Meals: Kitchen and farm products provided
