Prairie Grove Pasture Walk-Hacker Farms/Coffey Farms

Arkansas Grazing Lands Coalition is hosting pasture walks at two farms. Steve and Audrey run a “Shoestring Grazing Operation” with a perimeter fence and then innovative ways to divide pasture, moving 30 head of Beefalo/Beefmaster cross cows twice a day on the property. They are so pleased with the results of frequent moves. Both work full-time and can give tips on scheduling and practical tips. We will see a move during the pasture walk. Next, we will go to Ken and Linda Coffey’s small farm with Gulf Coast sheep; you will see the rye that Ken planted the day it finally rained, and some sorghum sudan grass that is still producing.
