Corn, soybean, wheat, grain sorghum, or cotton farmers in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin can enroll in Farmers for Soil Health. Participants with 1-year enrollment contracts receive up to $35 per acre, per year, for a maximum of 2,000 acres each year for planting cover crops. Contracts can be renewed annually for the duration of the Farmers for Soil Health program. This support is designed to help offset start-up costs and encourage the adoption of soil health practices.
