Brief Offers Institutions Guidance on Values-Based Purchasing

The Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development has published its first in a series of Value Chain Coordination Briefs intended to advance resilient, values-based food economies. The initial publication, entitled Unlocking Institutional Food Purchasing: Contract Strategies for Values-Based Sourcing, explores how hospitals, schools, and other institutions can overcome barriers to purchasing from small- and mid-sized farms, food hubs, cooperatives, and other regional suppliers.
