General Farm Description: Burning River Farm is a market farm serving farmers markets in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The farm has been in business since 2006, using all chemical free methods to grow our produce, with a strong focus on cover cropping and soil health. Internship Details:
Full time crew positions run from the first week of May through to the end of October 2026. Full time crew participate in most production and marketing tasks on the farm. We have a focus on high succession crops. This means that each week we are working on production, seeding, field prep, cover cropping, harvest, post harvest handling and going to the farmers markets on Saturday. Our work schedule is Tuesday-Friday on the farm 7a-4p, and Saturdays at the farmers markets (a longer day running from about 5a-3:30p including travel time).

Educational Opportunities: Though there is a lot to be learned in a position on the farm, there are no formal educational opportunities offered.
Skills Desired: Previous farming experience is a plus, but is not necessary. What is necessary is an appreciation for food, outdoor work, a good attitude and perseverance.
Meals: Lunch is often, but not always, provided. Some bulk stables (rice and beans) are provided for crew use for personal meals.
Stipend: Monthly salary is $2500/month before taxes.
Housing: Housing is provided in a shared crew house (see job description). There is no rent deducted for housing or utilities, but a signed housing agreement is required upon arrival and crew must participate equally in keeping the house clean.
