Minnesota’s Emerging Farmers’ Working Group Accepting Applications

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is seeking 11 members to serve from November 2026 through May 2028 on the Emerging Farmers’ Working Group. Meetings are held in person or virtually, and members may choose to receive a stipend for their service. Minnesotans interested in enhancing opportunities for new and emerging farmers to start or sustain an agricultural business should apply by September 14, 2026. The MDA welcomes applications for the seventh cohort of this state-level advisory group from anyone interested in serving and is particularly seeking the perspective of farmers or aspiring farmers who are:
