Farm Progress featured a story on the soil health practices used by Nebraska farmer and cattle producer Daryl Obermeyer over the past 50 years. Obermeyer has worked to improve soil health with cover crops and no-till, which has allowed him to reduce fertilizer inputs. In addition, grazing cover crops reduced hay and mineral requirements for his livestock. Promoting beneficial insects made it possible for Obermeyer to cut insecticide use, as well.
