General Farm Description: USDA Certified Organic working urban farm- production based farm business. We raise mixed vegetable, fruits, herb and microgreen crops. Small animal husbandry for our personal consumption and fertility managent.CRAFT Member Farm? No
Internship Starts: Spring 2026 (flexible start, 8-10 weeks increments)

Internship Details:
Opportunity for seasonal educational internship to learn the farming trade for those wishing to learn urban farming or set up their own homestead in the future.
April -October (8-10 week increment for internship with flexible start/end dates with student or personnel schedules.)

April and Petra co-farm women owned and managed half acre Urban Farm, Eden Urban Gardens, LLC. Located in the heart of City of Cincinnati limits. A true gem and trail blazer and one of a kind that has purchased blighted, vacant land and converted it into USDA Certified Organic Production. We offer seasonal educational internship lasting 8-10 weeks with onsite housing, meals, job & financial goal coaching to help interns achieve their goals.
Interns learn a ton about organic produce growing, small animal husbandry/poultry & rabbit, soil restoration, community engagement with this immersion intensive internship. Interns will farm and live the life of an Urban Farmer working side by side in all aspects for the 8-10 week duration. Internships are voluntary, a nominal stipend is provided to offset work boots, clothes and personal items, but otherwise this is considered an unpaid educational internship. The farm is self sustaining solely by it’s Produce sales. We have 100% job placement rate of our internship finding work after their internship. We provide coaching and provide references for future career opportunities.
We incorporate National Organic Practices, permaculture, conservative tilling, cover cropping and no-till practices. The ideal intern can do physical work for several hours at a time in various weather conditions, nonsmoking/tobacco/vaping/marijuana, drug free, user who wants to learn farming and experience urban farming lifestyle.
- Onsite housing provided- you will be living and sharing space with others, being fluid & flexible is needed.
- All meals and snacks provided- 7 days a week, we can accommodate vegetarian and food allergies.
- Transportation to our field sites is provided
- We invite interns to our club 4H activities, our farm workshop & recreational activities. Optional, but available.

- Metro bus transportation nearby, busses have bike racks on them, 15 minutes to downtown via Metro
- Weekly stipend,$50 ( we are also feeding, housing, coaching and teaching you the farm trade, which add huge value)
- Our farm is exclusively financially sustained from our Produce sales only, internships are considered volunteer educational internships
- Internship is Monday-Friday only, you have Saturday & Sunday to rest and explore the city!
- Farm & health books available for you to read.
- Personal coaching on business planning, personal financial management goals and healthy living are available to intern from Farmer hosts.
- Weekly one on one sessions assessing internship experience and setting weekly goals will occur with farm manager.
- Ability to use farm internship as a reference for future career options.
Educational Opportunities: Onsite instruction from farm manager, farm books, attending local 4H events, attending other local workshops on other farms or offered by County extension office or soil and water district and the Cincinnati Civic Garden Center are available.
Skills Desired: A person who is interested and willing to learn about sustainable agriculture, intensive organic Farming business and how this is done as a profession. Farming is physical and you will be walking, moving for hours at a time doing various tasks in all weather conditions.
Meals: Yes, all meals 7 days a week are provided. We eat meals together and cook for interns/family. Snacks are also provided. Interns will assist us in light food preparation, for example, helping to chop veggies, stir a pot of soup, bake with us, which is great to learn hands on healthy cooking from scratch and fun too!
Stipend: Yes, $50/week, $200/month with a 2 month minimum stay.
Housing: Yes, onsite housing is provided with a shared living space. Interns will be living and interfacing with others often and need to be flexible and open to new exciting experiences. Laundry onsite is available along with access to a bike and basketball hoop and wifi for use. We are walking distance to the library, restaurants, bars, coffee shop and some retail stores.
