The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for Agricultural Fertilizer Research and Education Council grants to support research, education and technology transfer projects focused on agricultural fertility, regenerative agriculture, and water-quality protection. Funding is available to organizations, researchers, businesses, farmers, Tribal entities, and local units of government with agricultural research capabilities and authorization to conduct business in Minnesota. Eligible projects must address fertilizer production and application, soil amendments, plant amendments, regenerative agriculture, or water-quality protection. All funded projects also must include an outreach component that helps ensure research findings are shared in a timely manner with agricultural producers or urban fertilizer users.
