USDA Investing in Meat Processing Expansion

USDA announced the selection of 147 recipients for tentative awards through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program, totaling more than $57 million. The grants, pending Congressional allotment of funds, will help eligible independent processors expand their capacity. USDA Rural Development designed the program to encourage competition and sustainable growth in the United States meat processing sector and improve supply chain resiliency.
