Mineral Calculator Tool Helps Beef Producers with Evaluation

Nebraska Extension has developed a new mineral calculator tool designed to help producers evaluate free-choice mineral products in relation to cattle requirements and the mineral contribution from forage and other feed sources. Funding from NCR-SARE and the Iowa Beef Industry Council supported development of the online decision-support tool. The mineral calculator is intended to help producers compare mineral products and evaluate whether a supplement can help meet the needs of the class of cattle being fed. Results depend on the information and assumptions the user enters.
