Medium scale biodigesters are an innovative technology that offer renewable energy production in a decentralized and resilient electrical grid. Join ATTRA as we dive into the Dickinson College Student Farm – Medium Scale Biodigester built over the course of several years from 2022–2024. This video showcases the first medium scale biodigester of its type in the Northeast. We cover an overview of biodigester infrastructure construction, considerations for cost savings, integration of food waste recovery, and overall energy production. This video was recorded on November 11, 2023, and August 20, 2024, as an interview and educational tour with Matt Steiman, Director of Energy Projects at Dickinson College Student Farm.

This video is produced by the National Center for Appropriate Technology through the ATTRA Sustainable Agriculture program under a cooperative agreement with USDA Rural Development.
