Internship information
General Farm Description: We are a Certified Naturally Grown specialty cut flower farm that has been in operation since 2014. We grow quality flowers for florists in NoVA, DC, and Baltimore, our own flower CSA, and are vendors at a competitive weekly farmers' market just outside DC. We also have our farm-based floral design studio and do wedding design. We produce on about four acres. We have both perennial and annual production, five unheated tunnels for season extension, and one heated propagation house. We use conservation tillage methods and a combination of both tractor and human power. We are based in Bluemont, VA-in western Loudoun County. Our Workplace Culture: We are a woman-owned business. We have over 15 years of farming experience. We are collaborative, thoughtful, inspired, and know how to hustle. We work hard but make time for conversation and connection while keeping our hands busy. We also farm with our young son (2 years old). He is part of the wonder of our daily tasks. So an openness to having him at our feet asking questions and making tractor noises at us is a necessity on our team. We send folks home with flowers and other farm bounties. Have lunch together as a team and love to find tasks and duties that celebrate our team's gifts and skills. We also are willing to teach new skills that team members show an interest in.CRAFT Member Farm? No
