Internship information

General Farm Description: We are a small, intensive, woman-owned vegetable farm, growing on approximately 1/4 acre, using organic practices. We grow diversified vegetables for our farmstand, and we grow salad greens for local wholesale markets. At our intensive scale, we plant, cultivate and harvest by hand, and we prioritize soil health by minimizing mechanical tillage. We have been in operation for 11 seasons, and we are beginning to expand beyond our 1/4 acre of gardens into a new property.

Internship Details:

We are looking for a part-time paid intern to help us with all aspects of running our operation, with an emphasis on help with harvest days.  Our intern would help 12-15 paid hours per week with harvest, planting, cultivating, and hand-weeding.  Additionally, our intern would have the option to learn more about farming through one-on-one instructional meetings with us during unpaid hours.

Educational Opportunities: We are members of the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers Association (VVBGA) and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, both of which host workshops and other educational opportunities. Our memberships will extend to our intern for the growing season.

Skills Desired: No experience necessary, but an ability to work independently is necessary.

Meals: No, but we provide a weekly CSA style share for our intern.

Stipend: Yes! We offer at least $14.50 per hour (more for experienced applicants).

Housing: We are not able to provide housing at this time, but we can help applicants find affordable options.
