General Farm Description: Fair Share Farm, LLC is a dynamic and growing produce farm located 15 minutes NW of Winston-Salem, NC. We grow approximately 7 acres of diversified, fresh-market fruit and vegetables. We are proud to serve families, chefs and small wholesale accounts in our neighborhood, Winston-Salem, Davidson and Charlotte. We utilize roughly one acre of high tunnels and greenhouses to grow food year round, employing a variety of cultivation methods, including: no-till, minimum tillage and conventional tillage. With a commitment to growing the best food possible and feeding as many people as possible, we utilize cover crops, mulches, tarps and high tunnels in an attempt to protect and improve the soil. Internship Details:
This is an opportunity to work on a profitable fruit and vegetable operation. Work side-by-side with our full-time crew of passionate farmers. Anticipate a wide variety of seasonal experiences all centered around the strong “backbone” of our weekly schedule and routines. Anticipate + / – 40 hrs per week in all spring, summer and fall weather conditions ( heat, humidity, wind and rain ). Summer crew folks will be involved in all aspects of work, including field operations, wash and pack, order fulfillment, CSA / Online order pick ups, farmers markets and deliveries.
Work with us and learn hands-on the mechanics of a profitable, non-certified organic fruit and vegetable farm. Join our team to work with a group of people who take their work seriously while having fun at the same time.

Educational Opportunities: There will be no formal class / education time. Crew members will learn on the job. Individuals with aptitude and good team fit will quickly earn more responsibilities and be exposed to a diversity of tasks.
Skills Desired: Work experience on for-profit, commercial produce farms is preferred. Specific skills in tractor operation and maintenance, vegetable and fruit harvest, transplanting, hand cultivation, wash and pack, order fulfillment, farmers' market sales, seed starting and propagation are all preferred. We want to work with people who know or very seriously considering a career in sustainable and regenerative agriculture. People who are serious about this work will bring with them a track record of coming to work on time, can maintain a positive temperament in stressful situations and who already know how to work well and fast at the same time.
Meals: No
Stipend: $13 - $15 / hr, depending on relevant experience and demonstrable ability to quickly and skillfully perform all job duties and tasks.
