The latest short video in Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education’s (SARE) series, Practical Tips for Beginning Farmers, highlights the importance of communication in successful multigenerational farming. In the three-minute film, Ohio dairy farmer Gretl Schlatter discusses managing the family farm with her siblings. Schlatter recommends treating family like business partners and says, “If you do need to bring in a mediator or third party to help you through that, your business is worth fighting for.”
