A report released on World Bee Day identifies the top 12 emerging threats that could accelerate pollinator losses within the next five to 15 years. Habitat loss, pesticides, climate change, and invasive species have caused severe declines in pollinator populations. Now Bee:wild, a new science-led global campaign to save pollinators, has released Emerging Threats and Opportunities for Conservation of Global Pollinators, a report that identifies threats adding further pressure to declining populations. These emerging threats include war and conflict, microplastic particles, artificial light at night, antibiotic pollution, air pollution, pesticide cocktails, and wildfires.
