The NY Soil Health Challenge is seeking 100 farmers in the Western, Central/Finger Lakes, Capital Area, and Hudson Valley regions of New York to help co-create better soil health programming, benchmarks, and community networks. To participate, farmers should manage at least three fields in diversified mixed vegetables, processing vegetables, annual grains, dairy cropping system, hay or pasture, or agroforestry. Participating farmers will receive three Cornell soil health tests, benchmarking information, a stipend, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. The participants must complete a 10-minute online survey and allow soil sampling from three fields.
