General Farm Description: White Feather Farm is a non-profit organization based in Saugerties, New York. We’re a small scale farm whose mission is to be an integral part of our community and to practice modern farming methods and techniques. We're Certified Organic through NOFA-NY, Real Organic Project certified (ROP) & Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) The White Feather Farm lands are intentionally and reverently tended. We focus on soil regeneration, cultivating biodiversity, and sequestering atmospheric carbon. Hours, days, expectations/requirements:
SCHEDULE: Tuesday – Saturday 8 – 4 or 7 – 3
Field Workers for our 2023 growing season will have chances to take part in all aspects of our farm, including; working with Honey Bees, Chickens, Log Grown Shiitake Mushroom production, Greenhouses and Propagation, Compost, BioChar & Soil building practices, customer service/sales on market days and of course plenty of field work (harvest, cultivation, irrigation, etc.)
No previous farming experience is required, but an eagerness to learn and interest in Agriculture is required.
Willingness to get dirty and work in the rain or shine while maintaining a positive attitude throughout the day.
Work with a constant sense of urgency, efficiency and care
Be reliable, self motivated, come to work prepared, on time and most importantly have a great attitude!
Can take constructive criticism well and follow instructions.
Able to lift at least 50 pounds
Always on time
Effective communication skills
We are only seeking applicants that can commit to a full season

Pay:
$17-24 Per Hour DOE
Up to $250 reimbursement for farm gear as a uniform
Reimbursements for Farm related educational courses and experiences
One hour paid break
Fresh vegetables and discount eggs

Housing is not offered. Housing is expensive and very hard to come by in this region. People looking to relocate are NOT encouraged to apply. We’re encouraging local people who are currently residents in the Saugerties, Woodstock, Kingston, Catskill Mountain area to apply.
Educational Opportunities: Yes, we encourage our staff to explore their talents and host workshops at the farm. We fund most all educational opportunities that are relevant to farming.
Skills Desired: No
Meals: Not really. We try to have farm provided lunches every two weeks.
Stipend: This is a paid position. $17 - 24 per hour DOE
Housing: We do not offer housing - Housing is difficult and expensive to find in this area. We encourage local Saugerties, Woodstock, Kingston and Catskill Mtn area residents to apply.
