General Farm Description: West County Community Farm is a diversified, regenerative farm located along the Laguna de Santa Rosa, just minutes from downtown Sebastopol, CA. We grow more than 200 varieties of vegetables, flowers, herbs, strawberries, and specialty crops, with most of our production dedicated to our vibrant Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.CRAFT Member Farm? Internship Details:
We are hiring for a production-focused crew position on our diversified vegetable farm in Sebastopol, CA. This role is intended for a beginning farmer, with a couple seasons under their belt, who wants to focus on the mechanical and technical side of vegetable production here in coastal Northern California.
Working closely with our Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager, this person will be trained on all our production systems and help with tractor operation, irrigation management, and leading efficient crew workflows through day-to-day horticultural tasks. Because this position offers substantial on-the-job training, we will prioritize candidates who are interested in staying with the farm for multiple years.
Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience on a vegetable production crew

Mechanical aptitude and/or experience operating farm tractors and implements; experience in similar trades also considered

Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic irrigation concepts (PSI, flow, etc.)

Strong work ethic with ability to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions

The ability to be flexible and chip in where needed

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset; able to help foster a supportive work environment

Local housing and reliable transportation required
This position includes significant training, but candidates should have enough foundational experience to work safely and independently after instruction.
Primary Responsibilities
-
Assist with field preparation, bed prep, compost and amendment application, transplanting, and cultivation across 10+ acres of diversified vegetables

Perform 100–200 hours of tractor work per year using various implements

Set up and break down field irrigation systems; manage irrigation schedules and timing

Support the maintenance and care of farm equipment and tools and work shops

Work as part of the field crew 2–3 days per week (harvesting, weeding, greenhouse tasks, etc.)
Schedule & Compensation

$22–$24/hr DOE
-
40 hours/week
-
Full-time, year-round position starting March 1, 2026 (start date negotiable)

2 weeks paid vacation
-
Opportunities for longer unpaid vacations in winter months
