General Farm Description: Quarton Farm is a mixed vegetable operation focusing on beans! In addition to seasonal legumes, we grow a selection of other crops we like to eat including lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, onions, garlic and herbs. We sell produce twice weekly in New York City’s Greenmarket.

Internship Details:

Quarton Farm is seeking an on-farm Operations Assistant. Position responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Tractor operation and implement use
• Equipment maintenance
• Greenhouse construction
• Field maintenance
• Mowing and weed whacking
• Supply errands
• Harvest transfers

Operations Assistant must have a positive mental attitude! All farm crew must be self-motivated and good communicators. English/Spanish speaking a plus. All farm crew must be able to lift 50 lbs. Operations Assistant must have valid driver’s license.

Days and times vary; must work Wednesdays. All farm crew has 30-minutes of paid break to take during their shift. Operations Assistant pay ranges from $18-20/hour depending on previous agricultural and operations experience and vested interest in Quarton Farm.

Quarton Farm is a non-smoking operation.
