General Farm Description: Our approach to farming, over the past ten years, has been small five to ten person CSAs with a focus on teaching small diversified organic farming to interns. We row cropping with a tractor and enjoying Steve Solomon's approach to fertility and nutrient dense food. We enjoy drip irrigation each year. Steve started Territorial Seeds. Our six acre farm is located along Clackamas River at Barton Park. We work to offer food to marginalized people and take food stamps. Internship Details:

We have one 2023 farm internship available for a single person or couple. We are an educational incubator farm that keeps its CSA membership small to increase training opportunities. The internship is a nine hour per week skill trade that comes with free glamping tent and CSA share. We offer a stipend in September if funds allow. The tent has a queen size bed, water, electricity, kitchenette, and full bathroom and claw foot tub in the adjacent barn. The season is April to mid Sept. In one year you will be exposed to all aspects of growing your own own food and running a successful sustainable farm. We do organic row cropping, with a tractor, using drip irrigation. Our approach to fertility follows Steve Solomon’s method. You will also see chickens, milking goats, and guardian livestock dog. Primary duties include working Saturdays and a weekday evening with owners to: start transplants, set up irrigation, direct sow, setup low-boy greenhouse, learn manual farm tools, harvest, clean produce, prepare shares, and work with the community (members, youth, community garden, etc). You don’t need any prior farm experience but we are looking for interns with an intentional drive that appreciates the soil. We are not providing meals but sharing meals will happen depending on interpersonal and pragmatic coordinating. We run the farm like a non-profit and invest in interns.
