General Farm Description: Harmony Ridge is a diversified sustainable farm located in the foothills of the NC Piedmont, near Winston-Salem. We produce a variety of produce, melons, blueberries, chicken eggs, pastured pork and Pekin duck. We primarily market our goods through our restaurant distribution system, selling additional farm products on top of those we produce. We also sell at farmers markets. We've been at it for 10 years, and have developed a strong connection and steady business in the larger markets of NC - Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham.

Internship Details:

Full or Part time Internship positions will revolve around the produce side of the farm. Planting, cultivating, crop care, harvest, washing and packing will comprise the bulk of the work. Intern will gain experience with greenhouse and hoophouse production as well as outdoor cropping. There is the opportunity to learn more about the husbandry side of the farm as well, although work in that area will be limited. Position may turn into a steady job for the right applicant. 40-45 hours full-time, Tuesdays through Saturdays. Part time will be considered.

Educational Opportunities: Hands-on experience on an established sustainable farm

Skills Desired: Experience is not necessary. Applicant must have a strong work ethic and be reliable. Applicant must be drug-free, capable of working without supervision and also as a team player. Sense of humor is always a plus!

Meals: We provide free produce and eggs to all employees, all meats are 1/2 price. Occasionally we provide team lunches.

Stipend: $1300/month full time, or equivalent rate part-time
