Alisha Horak

Alisha joined the National Center for Appropriate Technology in 2024 and is serving as the Lead Technical Assistance Provider. In this role, Alisha works with farmers and ranchers to implement sustainable practices on their crop and livestock operations, primarily focused in South Dakota.

Alisha received her Bacherlor’s Degree in Natural Resources from the University of Minnesota – Crookston, and her Master’s Degree in Applied Ecology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. In prior positions she has worked for Pheasants Forever, Inc. and USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service, focusing on implementing farm bill programs and working with producers.

Alisha lives in South Dakota on her own farm and raises livestock and attends farmer’s markets, selling meat and canned items on the weekends. She enjoys kayaking, fishing, and baking in her free time.
