Project Coordinator – Energy Corps

The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), a private non-profit organization helps people by championing small-scale, local, and sustainable solutions to reduce poverty, promote healthy communities, and protect natural resources. NCAT is seeking an Energy Corps Project Coordinator to facilitate our Montana Energy Corps AmeriCorps project. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with dedicated and professional staff on local and state projects while developing skills working on an AmeriCorps grant. This is a full time position based at NCAT’s headquarters in Butte, MT.

QUALIFICATIONS: This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate with a combination of education and/or experience in energy, personnel management, business management or development, project coordination, or community service. A college degree is required. Minimum requirements include a background in energy, AmeriCorps Program, or project development and interest in sustainable energy and energy efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: The successful candidate will have a strong interest in facilitating the Montana Energy Corps AmeriCorps project. A demonstrated interest and knowledge in promoting energy efficiency, community engagement and sustainable communities would be beneficial. Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly are very important in this position, as is attention to detail in order to comply with federal and state grant requirements. A high level of computer literacy is required including use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Training in personnel management and/ or project coordination would be most useful. Previous AmeriCorps or VISTA experience is useful. Travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for coordination of the Energy Corps AmeriCorps project in Montana;
  • Facilitate community outreach to identify energy needs and develop relationships with partners to host Energy Corps members who will address these needs;
  • Responsible for Energy Corps member recruitment, management and support;
  • Collect and maintain paperwork including organizing daily, weekly and monthly schedules, timesheets and reports;
  • Facilitate AmeriCorps member trainings;
  • Perform host site monitoring visits and administer project evaluation instruments as appropriate;
  • Demonstrate Energy Corps impact and conduct project assessment;
  • Help develop proposals for additional funding for the Energy Corps project.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time position with a salary range from $32,000 – $40,000 annually depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
