NCAT’s Northeast Regional Office first opened in January 2007 in Northeast Pennsylvania. It was relocated to Keene, New Hampshire in 2017. The office is in a restored mill building that was originally built in 1900 as a flour mill and cracker factory for the Gurnsey Bros. and Co. It is located in the historic district of Downtown Keene and is closely situated near the Western Massachusetts and Vermont borders.
Regional program emphasis is focused on community food systems and in providing technical assistance to the small and diversified farms that support the local economies of the Northeast. Staff expertise focuses on whole-farm and business planning, small-scale intensive crop production, urban agriculture, organic certification, livestock grazing and pasture management, and sustainable fisheries. Regional staff works with beginning farmers, seasoned producers, farmer veterans, and with the many organizations, businesses, and educators dedicated to regenerative agriculture and energy solutions in the Northeast.
We look forward to working with you to help reduce poverty, promote healthy communities, and protect natural resources.
